Choosing a Videographer

Just like with choosing your photographer, videographers come in a vast range of different styles and package options to choose from.
It's important that you research your videographer to make sure that their style is one that suits your tastes and will best capture your big day!
What to look for:
Shot style - are they capturing the fine details as well as the obvious moments (like the first kiss!)? Do their films include your guests reactions and special unscripted moments? Shot variety is important in your wedding film to make sure all the hard work you have put into preparation is captured, along with the emotion of all who are present on your big day!
Editing Style - Like photographers, videographers will adopt a certain look and feel to their films through colour grading. This might be a vintage feel or a crisp and bright look, or maybe warm or cooler colours. See how the films flow, did they simply put a row of shots together with a backing track? Or do the shots transition nicely together, in time with the music, in a thoughtful, emotional sequence?
Package Options - Most popularly, videographers will offer a 3 to 8 min highlight reel of your day. This is where most of the style mentioned above comes into play; but what you also need to consider is if you would like the ceremony and speeches filmed in their entirety. This often comes at a higher price as there is more equipment required and huge 'on the day pressure' to get it perfect, but ABSOLUTELY worth it!
